Independent microbiological analysis confirms safety of the SnowRoom

High standards of hygiene have always been the guiding principle in TechnoAlpin's product development. Common to all design solutions, for example, is the ease of cleaning and the idea that the snow is used in portions for individual massage. This also prevents any indirect contact with the next guest.

In view of the current situation, however, the experts at TechnoAlpin wanted verifiable data and and entrusted SEA, an independent institute for microbiological testing and consultant for hygiene and occupational safety for the food industry, with the task of carrying out analyses in the SnowRoom. The result: surfaces, snow and the air quality in the room are absolutely harmless, as the prevailing conditions in the room have a negative impact on the survival of microorganisms. We have summarized the results below:

Procedure

During the test, a 7-day operating cycle was simulated - this corresponds to the maximum recommended time until complete defrosting and cleaning of the SnowRoom. During this process the possible contamination of air, surfaces and snow was continuously analyzed. It was proven that the prevailing extreme conditions in the SnowRoom, with an air temperature of -11°C and a high air humidity, cause a rapid death of microorganisms.

Surfaces and Snow quality

The prevailing conditions prevent the growth and survival of microorganisms on the surfaces installed in the SnowRoom. Existing microorganisms die extremely fast on all examined surfaces (wood, plastic, cement, metal), within 24h a reduction of 99,8% of the prevailing microorganisms was present.

Even after 7 days, the examined snow quality still corresponded to the microbiological parameters specified for human consumption. The samples analyzed after 7 days are completely FREE OF PATOGENIC BACTERIES that could cause health problems.

Air quality

Indoor air quality was measured and evaluated according to global evaluation guidelines. Even after a defined visitor frequency, the air in the SnowRoom shows a "very low" microbiological contamination. This corresponds to the best possible classification. Despite the low air exchange rate, the air quality in the SnowRoom was better than in the anteroom, which is due to the prevailing cold temperatures.

Conclusion

Based on the present evaluation, the SnowRoom can be operated without any further safety measures. However, the respective legal regulations regarding minimum distance must be observed. The virus causing Covid 19 shows the highest and longest resistance in aerosols at +4C. Such conditions prevail, for example, in cooling systems in the food industry. In the SnowRoom, on the other hand, high humidity and low temperatures favor the rapid reduction of microorganisms and block their multiplication.
