The SNOWROOM can be built in different sizes up to a maximum of 25 m². The size can be adapted to suit visitor frequency. Basically, we calculate that each person needs about 1 m² of space.
What is the temperature in the SNOWROOM when visitors enter the room?
The temperature in the SnowRoom is generally between -5 and -10 degrees Celsius. It rises a little, depending on visitor frequency.
What happens to the snow on the floor?
We recommend preparing the SNOWROOM so that the floor is largely free of snow. Before starting sauna operation, the snow which has collected on the floor during nightly snow production is completely pushed to one side so visitors can walk on a snow-free zone. That way, no ice forms on the floor and there is no risk of slipping. The floor inside the SNOWROOM is made of rubber.
What furnishings are available for the SNOWROOM?

What is the delivery time for a SNOWROOM?
Delivery times are between 10 and 12 weeks after the order is signed.
How long does it take to assemble a SNOWROOM?
It depends on the local factors and the size of the SNOWROOM. Installation normally takes 2-3 weeks, including commissioning and training the customer on site.
When is the snow produced?
Each SnowRoom has a scheduler program with which the times for snow-making can be set exactly. We recommend making snow overnight so you can visit the snow sauna during the day.
Can I adapt the cycles to suit my own requirements?
The snow-making cycles can be changed at any time to suit your circumstances.
How often do I have to produce snow each day?
It is not normally necessary to produce snow during the day because it will have been produced during the night. We recommend not producing snow during visitor times because it affects the view in the SnowRoom.
Can you produce snow while people are in the SnowRoom?
Yes, but we do not recommend it.
How high is the water consumption in general?
The water consumption is between 10 and 15 liters per hour.
Does a SnowRoom need a lot of energy and water?
The SnowRoom is built in such a way that only high-density materials are used (e.g. triple glazing, high-quality PUR foam insulation panels for low heat loss), so that the room can maintain the required temperature. It can basically be said that a SnowRoom needs about the same amount of energy as a sauna. In addition, the waste heat from the SnowRoom can be recycled. Depending on the on-site conditions, up to 90% of the electrical energy fed in can be recovered via a heat exchanger and reused to heat water, for example. This is an efficient solution in hotels, for example, where waste heat is used to heat the swimming pool water. On a case-by-case basis, together with the customer, we examine which options are available to make practical use of the residual heat.
The water consumption is very low, thanks to the patented technology, 5 liters of snow can be produced from 1 liter of water. The weekly consumption of a SnowRoom is about 200 liters of water. By comparison, 10-15 liters of water per minute flow in the shower.
How much power is required to operate the SnowRoom?
Operation of the SnowRoom requires about 5 kW.
Can I construct the SnowRoom myself and just buy the equipment from TechnoAlpin?
The SnowRoom is based on complex technology and only correct assembly guarantees proper functioning. TechnoAlpin Indoor therefore only supplies turnkey SnowRooms in order to guarantee the best snow quality. This is a whole package, consisting of the SnowRoom and equipment, including assembly, installation and commissioning of the SnowRoom.
How much will the SnowRoom cost per day/year?
Depending on your electricity charges, the SnowRoom will cost between 20 and 25 euros a day to operate. That is the equivalent of operating a sauna for 10 people. This cost must be seen in relative terms if a heat recovery system is used.
How much maintenance does the SnowRoom technology need?
The EcoSnow technology is fully automatic. For trouble-free operation, a visual inspection of the function indicators should be performed daily and it should be ensured that the return air vents are free of snow. The time taken for service and maintenance of the SnowRoom equipment is comparable to that required for a swimming pool. The cooling circuit must be checked periodically according to law. Regular maintenance also guarantees a long service life for the system.
Can the inspection and maintenance of the SnowRoom be handled by an employee?
Yes, it can certainly be handled by an employee. The time required each day for maintenance and cleaning of the SnowRoom is about 10 minutes. We can of course provide you with a cleaning kit and cleaning instructions.

We recommend that the SnowRoom is defrosted periodically. For hygiene reasons, this should be done once a week. The SnowRoom can then be cleaned and snowmaking restarted.
Which disinfectant do you recommend for cleaning the SnowRoom?
We recommend a commercial disinfectant and cleaner for washable surfaces and items. This eliminates bacteria, viruses and fungus, prevents mold growth and deodorizes.
Is there a particular way to use the SnowRoom?
A specific way of using the TechnoAlpin SnowRoom was developed in collaboration with medical professionals. The idea is based on the interplay between warm and cold applications to accentuate the health benefits of cold from snow. Depending on how intense you want the treatment in the SnowRoom to be, you can simply enjoy the cold or apply the snow to your body.
Do you sit or stand in the SnowRoom?
You can sit or stand. There is generally seating in each SnowRoom. If you prefer, you can rub yourself with snow to intensify the cooling effect.
Do I have to shower before entering the SnowRoom?
Sweating cleans the body gently and flushes out your pores. If taking a sauna has become a daily event, there are still some common sauna rules to follow. We therefore recommend taking a shower before using the sauna and SnowRoom. After showering and before the first sauna, dry yourself well because dry skin sweats more quickly.
How is hygiene handled in general?
Because the snow for rubbing in the SnowRoom does not come off the floor but from the flat surfaces in the room, there are no problems in terms of hygiene. In addition, the snow is replaced each day by snow-making during the night. A microbiological study revealed that cold temperatures have a negative impact on bacteria and viruses and that the use of the SnowRoom is therefore completely safe in this respect as well.
