The Stemp OASEE: When snow becomes part of wellness architecture

In the Bavarian Forest, Das Stemp has created a wellness area that connects architecture, nature and regeneration in a quiet, thoughtful way. At the heart of this concept is a SNOWROOM by TechnoAlpin Indoor — integrated not as a standalone attraction, but as a natural part of the spa experience.

Das Stemp is a family-run wellness resort in the Bavarian Forest, known for its close connection to nature, its calm atmosphere and a strong sense of comfort. With the new Stemp OASEE, the hotel has developed this philosophy further and created a spa area that feels open, contemporary and deeply rooted in its surroundings.

The aim was not to add as many attractions as possible, but to design a place that conveys calm despite its generous dimensions. A spacious sauna for up to 70 guests, a natural pool of around 60 metres and a granite whirlpool are arranged to create openness without losing intimacy. Heated relaxation huts with underfloor heating and infrared lamps make the outdoor area usable throughout the year.

Within this architectural concept, the SNOWROOM by TechnoAlpin Indoor plays a clear and carefully considered role. Before the renovation, the hotel was missing a true cooling option after the sauna. The SNOWROOM now offers guests an alternative form of cooling: gentle, natural and independent of season or weather.

For Das Stemp, the decision was also closely linked to the identity of the region. In the Bavarian Forest, snow has a particular emotional meaning. What once belonged naturally to the landscape can no longer be taken for granted. The SNOWROOM brings this experience indoors and makes it available all year round.

The space is not designed as a playful addition. It is part of the overall architectural and atmospheric concept. A large-scale image of the Bavarian Forest visually connects the room to its surroundings and anchors it in the identity of the hotel.

For TechnoAlpin Indoor, the project demonstrates how real snow can be integrated into premium wellness environments with precision and sensitivity. The focus is not on staging an effect, but on creating a physical experience of temperature, freshness and pause.

Guest feedback has confirmed the decision. For many visitors, the SNOWROOM has become the finishing touch of the OASEE — a moment of surprise, cooling and calm.

With the Stemp OASEE, Das Stemp and TechnoAlpin Indoor show how wellness, architecture and nature experience can come together without becoming loud. Snow simply becomes part of the space. And that is where its strength lies.
